Stool #1

Inspired by the Ray and Charles Eames stools circa 1960.   They were 3 different distinctly shaped stools all made from walnut wood.   I wanted to do something similar, but with my own design vocabulary, and featuring contrasting woods with exceptional patterns in the grain of the wood.  I originally intended for this to be used primarily as a stool, but it has become one of my favorite side tables. (Lily the cat agrees)  —  maple, walnut, and ash wood;  clear epoxy filler with water base and tung oil finishes; signed and dated, 10/20/2017.
